The Weleda cream that smells like a delicous drink
If you're looking for a nice, light cream that sits well under make-up and doesn't irritate sensitive skin, give Weleda's Almond soothing facial lotion a try. The fact that it smells just a little like one of my favourite drinks (Disaronno*) is a huge plus for me.
It doesn't have any perfume (big bonus for sensitive skin) but it still has a light, pleasant scent. I always prefer my products without any perfume, even though the first thing I do when testing is smelling it.... But as long as something doesn't smell bad, I'm happy with a neutral scent.
I've been using somewhat irregular for the past few months (sometimes I used my spf as a day cream and sometimes I use some rosehip oil at night), but every time this has been brilliant. I have sensitive, slightly combination skin (a bit on the dry side) and this moisturiser fits very well with my skin type, even when moving into autumn with changing temperatures.
If you don't know about Weleda, it's a Swiss brand that started as a pharmaceutical laboratory in 1921 and their focus is on holistic and natural products. They are organic, sustainable and Weleda is a member of the Union for Ethical Biotrade (which means they promote conservation of biodiversity and assure fair sharing of benefits along the supply chain). Basically how a modern company should operate. But they've been doing it since the beginning. Big A+ for Weleda.
Other Weleda favourites
If you're keen to try some other Weleda products then I can really recommend Skin Food (£8.60) which is great as a treatment for dry skin/irritated skin. If you're a lover of body oils then you should definitely give the Wild Rose Body Oil (£13.23) a go. It smells amazing! They also used to do a bath milk from the rose line but that seems to have been discontinued. If you come across it, buy it! It is so lovely and makes your skin really soft. And if you come across it but don't fancy it, buy it anyway and I'll take it off your hands ;-).
*If you're one of those people who thinks Disaronno is too sweet, try it over ice with a squeeze of Lime. Delizioso!
